Nowadays, this system is a set of indicators in the absence of a mechanism to construct the general assessment. The authors have proposed the mechanism for constructing a system of indicators of municipal management performance on the basis of the hierarchy. The top level of the hierarchy is common indicators reflecting the final result of the region&amp;rsquo;s work. The lower levels of the hierarchy describe the immediate results of the individual executive bodies of the power and their divisions. The construction of such a hierarchy allows setting the centers of responsibility for the individual spheres of the municipal government even for the ordinary specialists of the municipal authorities. An example of constructing a system of indicators for the economic sphere of development of the municipal education is given. This example has been built on the basis of the data of the city of Ryazan, and illustrates the principle of hierarchy of the performance indicators of the municipal management in the city.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The article is an attempt to form a system of evaluation of the effectiveness of the municipal management.
