ANALYSIS OF SALARIES AND WAGES IN FRANCE, TAKING INTO ACCOUNT THE DIVERGENCE BY GENDER AND EMPLOYEE CATEGORY

Wages occupy the largest share of income of citizens in most countries of the world and are the key to well-being and ensure the welfare of the population. In connection with global political and economic changes in the world, it becomes relevant to carry out an economic analysis of different countries, including indicators measuring the standard of living of the population, which very well reflect the state of the economy of these countries. Wages, as a significant part of citizens' incomes, are one of the indicators of the standard of living of the population. France is of interest as one of the Western countries participating in the sanctions war against Russia. The purpose of this work is to analyze wages and identify the main trends in their changes in recent years in France. The study analyzed average annual wages in France for 2000-2022, differentiated by category and gender. Based on the results of the analysis, a certain increase in the standard of living of citizens in the country was revealed in connection with an increase in average wages. A gradual decrease in the difference in wages between highly qualified employees with higher education and low-skilled employees performing manual labor was recorded. Some gender discrimination was identified, with women receiving lower wages than men in the same positions. However, during the analyzed period there was a decrease in the wage gap between both genders.
